An Introduction to Cartonnage
(the French art of box-making & fabric covered boxes)
with Tracey Miles
October 9/10th 2021
Tracey is a retired Nurse who has always loved crafting and finding creative ways to use fabric. She learnt about Cartonnage when she was living in France and fell in love at once with its sustainability and its use of recycled and biodegradable materials.
Students will learn the basic techniques used in constructing and decorating beautiful boxes and other decorative items. Using 100% recycled 3mm board we will begin by making a basic box to get a feel for the materials and tools used in Cartonnage, then use those skills to make a more complex and personalized project on day two.
